The Digs

It’s time for me to say goodbye to all the friends, customers, and especially the employees who have supported this establishment through the years. After thirteen unforgettable years, it is with deep emotion that Mully’s Nacoochee Grill will be closing its doors on December 27, 2025.

When we opened in June 2013, Mully’s Nacoochee Grill was more than a restaurant in my mind, it was a dream to build a place with heart, where friendship and camaradarie were the main ingredients. Thanks to our employees and patrons, that hope grew into something greater than I ever envisioned. We’ve endured Covid, family illness, employee shortages, and some slow stretches. My wife has spent thirteen years of weekends without a date, but I am so glad I did it…or as the song says, “I would have missed the dance.”

These thirteen years have truly been a special dance. Over time, guests traveled from across the Southeast to dine with us, celebrate with us, and laugh with us. I hope our restaurant has become part of your memorable stories, your special occasions, and even those simple moments of saying, “Let’s go to Mully’s tonight.” My family has lived in this county for over 150 years, and my locals mean the world to me. Thank you so much for your support. And to those who have had to endure me telling the same story twice, or saying something I probably shouldn’t have… I’m sorry - ha!

My Executive Chef, Fern Frechette, has been with us for the past seven years. His knowledge of food and work ethic are second to none. We have worked side by side in the kitchen for the past several months, and I’ve learned a lot, especially gratitude. Dan Frechette, Fern’s brother, was a creator of exquisite dishes and desserts. I will truly miss Clifford and Christy as well, the very best in the kitchen.

My current front of house staff: Kayleigh, Teri, Ananda, Logan, Ainsley, and Lindsey have been so good to me, and they will be here to say goodbye, too. I will never forget their dedication as well as the commitment of all my past employees.

Since the beginning, Kurt Johnston has filled our place with the feeling of home and soul. His talent and dedication to his craft have become a defining part of our atmosphere, and his music has brought life to countless evenings. Guests came knowing they would enjoy a great meal enriched by his presence and still to this day make sure he will be there upon their reservation.

We will continue our regular Wednesday thru Saturday dinner service. We will not be open on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, but we will be open on December 26th and 27th.

You may have come to my restaurant as a customer, but I hope I am leaving you as a friend.

Sincerely,
Greg “Mully” Ash
